Life after Kickstarter... with great emotion, gratitude and joy

I hope you are taking good care of yourselves this season. Weather changes, cultural uncertainty, TIME CHANGE. .and then. .the midterms! I just saw a great quote from Rebecca Solnit: “Voting is not a Valentine, you aren't choosing the candidate you love. It's a chess move for the world you want to live in.” Brava! Treason is not too strong a word for what is going on at the top right now. It must be stopped.

We wrapped our Kickstarter up on October 19 with 152 backers and 130% of the original goal! Thank you! Those two little words carry great emotion, gratitude and joy. I hope you all realize how much your support for this project has kept my spirits light and my creative juices flowing. I have never done this kind of thing before, and to know up front that your excitement and enthusiasm are as much a part of it all as the actual making has made such a difference.

The reason you haven't heard from me sooner is that I have been in the studio for hours almost every day, singing, playing, listening. Getting a UU church service ready for Greenfield Ma this weekend. Getting ready to leave on a trip to the Midwest (see calendar). Grieving the loss of a dear friend. you know, the usual. Plus trying to get what plants that I can salvage inside. The first frost surprised me. .and the Mandevillas!

Well, I am off to write my sermon (the theme is courage). Wish me luck!

With love and gratitude,
Claudia
